About Me

My educational journey began when I attended Wilfrid Laurier University and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Psychology as well as a Master of Social Work. I am in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I am a certified Long-Term Care Administrator and am also trained in Collaborative Law. I also recently completed a Masters of Health Management degree from McMaster University.

I have over 20 years of career experience providing clinical counselling and support to individuals of all ages in a variety of settings including hospitals, home care, educational environments, and private practice.

Here’s the Thing…

Above all else...I am a person just like you. I have conquered my own difficulties throughout my life. What I’ve learned through my education and connecting with so many people is the value of compassion, empathy and the ability to actively listen even through very hard times. Caring connections are key to a solid therapeutic relationship. Psychotherapy can help to resolve long standing issues, overcome current difficulties, and move your life in more positive directions. I can help you to write your own life story.

Let me help you write your own life stories

Helping people achieve a higher quality life with more joy never gets old.

Life lessons

We have all made mistakes throughout our lives. For many, it has not been an easy journey. But here you are. What life lessons did you learn along the way? What gives you strength and courage?
Here are a few of mine

The dandelion story
The dog and the bone
Don’t throw away your old bike
Patience, persistence and perserverance

Let Go!

Give yourself permission to let go. If you have been hurt in the past it's important to acknowledge it, feel it, work through it, and then let it go. That takes time, but with support you can do it. It does not mean that you need to forget about it. It just means that you are making a conscious decision to live in the present.

Live with Intention

Wake up every day and make a conscious decision to be the person you want to be. Surround yourself with people and things that you love, laugh often, challenge yourself and find your passion.

I enjoy a non-judgemental and collaborative
approach to mental health.

Here's the thing...

We all need support and encouragement at some point in our life. Therapy is whatever you want it to be. Some people want to express their feelings, others want to listen, some want to cry while others want to be challenged. Whatever you need, I am here to support you on your journey.

Is therapy right for me?

Therapy is right for anyone that is looking to make a change in their life. Therapy can help you acknowledge issues of the past, motivate you to address current challenges of depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, and stress management or it will empower you toward taking responsibility, improve self-awareness, and create an amazing future.
